After 18:00 and during weekends should you require a doctor’s advice, please use NHS24 online or Call 111.

NHS24 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

NHS24 provides a 24 hour nurse consultation and health information service.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Emergency Care Summary
If you attend the out of hours care centre you will be asked if the staff there may access your Emergency Care Summary.  This gives them information on your previous 30 days prescriptions, together with any allergies the practice knows of.  If you do not want this information made available to GEMS, please let the practice know.

The practice offers “extended hours” appointments which can be pre-booked or booked on the day for patients who are unable to attend the surgery during normal working hours. This service does not deal with emergencies. 

How do I book an appointment?

Contact your GP practice in the usual way to request an appointment.

If your practice is closed and you need medical help now, use NHS24 online or Call 111. They may also be able to book an appointment for you with the GP Extended Access Service.
